Harken Tack Terminal
Return To Index
The Harken Tack Terminal is a critical component of the Harken Reflex furling system, designed to connect the tack of a free-flying sail (such as a Code Zero or asymmetric spinnaker) to the furling unit's torque-transferring swivel. It provides a rapid, secure connection that allows one furling drive unit to handle multiple sails.
Key Features and Description
Quick-Release Mechanism: Features a modular T-fitting or spring-loaded pin, allowing for rapid disconnection of the rolled sail from the drive unit.
T-Slot Locking: New sails can be easily slid into the T-slot, allowing for quick sail changes.
Fixed Tack Terminal Option: Specifically used when the torsion cable is integrated inside the sail's luff.
Tack Swivel Functionality: Low-friction ball-bearing tack swivels allow the upper part of the sail to furl first, ensuring an even and tight roll.
Compatibility: Designed for use with Harken Reflex Units 1, 2, and 3, allowing compatibility with varying torsion cable sizes (e.g., 9mm or 12mm).
Adaptability: Available in forked or pin interfaces, which allow for adapting existing torsion cables to the Reflex system.
